Brain Injury Association of Waterloo Wellington (BIAWW)

Client Description
BIAWW provides support and education to individuals with a brain injury of all ages from school age to the elderly.

Volunteer Impact Statement
Volunteers at our Brain Injury Association play a vital role in supporting survivors' recovery through creative arts programs and they are the heart of our BIAWW. By facilitating activities like greeting card making, volunteers empower individuals to express themselves, enhance cognitive skills, and experience the joy of artistic expression. These programs foster a sense of accomplishment, improve fine motor skills, and provide a valuable social outlet, contributing to overall well-being and a sense of purpose. Their compassionate support provides invaluable assistance to survivors on their journey of recovery as well as educating school aged children on brain safety and how to avoid concussions with our Lidz on Kidz presenations and our annual Bike Helmet giveaways.
